What do bird boxes, bee hotels, fire woks and nature experts all have in common?

They are all available free to schools as part of Learning through Landscapes Local School Nature Grants Programme - a Partnership Awards Programme supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Established in 2017, the scheme has already benefitted over 700 schools across Great Britain - and in 2019 will continue to expand thanks to a £561,979 award from Postcode Local Trust.

The programme is open to infant, primary, secondary, special schools and pupil referral units.

A simple, 20-minute process allows schools apply for up to £500 worth of outdoor resources, which can be chosen from a mix of over 100 different products.

Following this, Learning through Landscapes expert staff will visit schools to provide a 2-hour training session for teachers and support staff on using the resources and delivering education outdoors.

The packages offer a wide mix of products to appeal to a broad range of ages, are customisable - enabling schools to choose from a menu of items which best suit their learners and their setting.

Phase 3 will launch on 18th March 2019 - closing to applications on 22nd November.
